The Qur'an is the book that Muslims study. To them, the Qur'an is like the Bible. The Qur'an is actually the teachings of Muhammed, recorded by his followers at the time. Muhammed was a merchant who lived in Mecca in 610 A.D. Muhammed was visited by an angel of Allah one night. This angel taught Muhammed about Allah. From then on, Muhammed preached about Allah. As more people started listening to Muhammed, some of his original followers met. They decided to write down what Muhammed was teaching.
